Welcome to Bräu.

Bräu (or Braumeister's Wife) is my collection of favorite recipes and documented progress of my culinary skills. I've had a voracious appetite to learn all about cooking for the past 8 years.

I cook for myself first, so that I can make sure I am an honest student. Secondly, I cook for my husband, who's an amazing cook himself, but is always really awesomely into my food too. Beyond us, when I get a chance to cook for others, I like to stick with meals that are pretty straight-forward but the technique is what makes it “wow.”

I never want to feel like I've arrived, so I'm always on the look-out for new and better techniques that I haven't tried yet.

As a side note, I like to use practical (available) ingredients, usually organic or free-range. I like to eat less refined grains, less meat, more vegetables, and avoid pre-processed foods.
