With spring upon us, I've been craving more smoothies lately. I love the nutrients you can pack into a smoothie and how refreshing they are. I always experiment, some turning out better than others, some all fruit, some with protein powder, some with added greens. The best trick for thick and cold smoothies is to nix the ice altogether, and instead replace ice with frozen fruit. If I remember I try to prep some fruit ahead of time, like peeled and halved bananas, and cored strawberries. They thicken the smoothie very nicely and since they are mostly made of water anyways, they act as a superb ice, with way more flavor.
I'd love to know your favorite smoothie combinations, let me know what you got!
